It has just been announced that Fresh Start Charity has won a National Award!
Business Awards UK has recognised the significant work and achievements of Ipswich-based Fresh Start Charity in the Youth Services Development category for "Excellence in Mental Health Support".
Charity Founder, Angela Gregg, was delighted to receive this prestigious Award on behalf of all the team and volunteers at the Ipswich Shop.
Fresh Start Charity works with young adults aged between 16-24, providing them with valuable experience and opportunities to access the world of employment with local businesses. To compliment this project, Angela has also created the Open Heart campaign to help those who are struggling with their mental health. The scheme has already had a positive impact on those who work at the shop, giving them more confidence as well as boosting their self esteem. In the café, staff and customers are encouraged to talk about their issues in a safe environment, without judgement. By wearing the green heart shaped badge, it shows you are someone who is willing to listen. It can make all the difference simply by having a chat, offering support or by pointing someone in the right direction to seek professional advice if needed.

Fresh Start Charity - Supporting the Community
As of August 2023, Fresh Start Charity is no longer operating Hadleigh Foodbank. Sadly due to the cost of living crisis, the level of food and toiletries donations has fallen dramatically.
